Welcome To Career Athletes

Who we are
Career Athletes is the leading provider of a wide range of dedicated career development services and software within collegiate athletics. Since the inception of our roots back in 1998-to-date, athletes in every sport, from over 1,400 individual colleges and universities nationwide, have utilized Career Athletes as a valuable tool in their transition from athletics to the workplace.

Many of you may already know us as Athlete4Hire.com, or CRG, or simply Career Athletes. Today, Career Athletes is the merged formation of the three most validated and relevant college athlete career development organizations in America (Athletes4Hire, Competitive Resources Group, Career Athletes). Collectively, since 1998, Career Athletes has been focused on providing educational and career service resources, technology solutions, and career mentoring networks...assisting and connecting current and former student-athletes, college athletic administrators, athletic alumni organizations and hiring managers throughout the United States.

Career Athletes possesses the largest member based community of current/alumni student-athletes, representing a growing legion of athletes, athletic departments and hundreds of national, regional and local employers. Today, our on-campus training and development seminars to student-athletes are the most relied upon in the nation, with over 1,000 seminars conducted and over 275,000 student-athletes educated on-campus within college athletic departments at the NCAA, NAIA and Junior Colleges level.

What we believe

While many athletes possess a 'sense of aim' of their career ambitions, most are without a clear, organized plan to begin the process. Athletic Departments at all college institutions diligently work to maintain the strong relationship between its current athletes and former alumni athletes. While every coach, parent and administrator is ‘committed' to personal and career development, most athletic departments do not possess the human, technological or curriculum resources to provide effective resources in these important areas.

Career Athletes recognizes whether it is taking a pitch to the opposite field or writing a computer program, athletes inherently learn what it takes to be successful when they're part of a team. They possess the emotional and mental skills that transfer for the foundation of future business success. We also believe that success breeds success and a successful athlete tends to also become a successful member of the workplace.

What we know
Trained athletes have successfully applied the skills that employers seek: teamwork, goal setting, time management, punctuality, discipline, initiative, tenacity, drive, loyalty, dedication, and the ability to take direction and recover from adversity. It is no accident that many senior executives and successful business owners are former collegiate athletes and that over 80% of the female executives at Fortune 500 companies identified themselves as former ""tomboys"" - having played sports.

There is a proven correlation between an individual's level of income and their collegiate athletic participation. In a study published by The Review of Economics and Statistics (Long and Caudill), researchers concluded that "athletic participation produces personal traits or behavior patterns that enhance labor market productivity, and that athletes acquire reputations that increase employer demand for their services off the playing field."

The job of hiring managers is increasingly dependent on their ability to attract, cultivate, and retain talent. They're looking for that common denominator in employees who excel under pressure, display leadership, and respond positively to the advice and guidance of superiors. Collegiate athletes, most of whom will enter the workforce after school, have spent much of their lives exhibiting these very traits.
