Mansfield set to provide career connections to current and alumni athletes
Kansas City, Kan. (Aug. 4, 2011) - Mansfield University Athletics recently agreed to a multi-year partnership with Career Athletes. The partnership between Career Athletes and the Mansfield University athletic department provides a national representation of unique networking opportunities and career development resources for current and alumni athletes.
Mansfield University Chair, Department of Academic & Human Development and Liberal Studies, Deborah Rotella stated, "We are extremely excited about partnering with Career Athletes. Career development has been an important component of our current CHAMPS/Life Skills Program, but now our association with Career Athletes, we can expand the services and opportunities for our current and former student-athletes. This company has expanded on a concept that those of us who work with former student-athletes already knew; student-athletes make great employees. Student-athletes develop skills and traits as athletes that are highly sought after in the workplace, they know how to be part of a team with a common vision, accept feedback, and handle multiple responsibilities at one time."
This Online Career Community Network will provide benefits such as mentoring, professional networking, virtual career coaching and 13 years of best practices from the leading and largest career services organization assisting athletes, athletic departments and campus career centers. The Mansfield University "Community Network" consists of current and alumni athletes from the institution as well as local, regional and national employers all managed and monitored by Career Athletes at its home office in the Kansas City area. Individual members of Career Athletes are also able to network with over 90,000 former college athletes from across the nation while having access to thousands of career opportunities and internships exclusive to www.careerathletes.com.
